I think the "emergent structure" phenomenon is very much at play here. Most certainly the pharma industry is exploiting this like mad. Most certainly they are obfuscating safety and efficacy and so on.
But like "the great reset" i think their motives are quite clear being a stakeholder firm. They are meant to profit by all means possible. They (especially pfizer) are truly dispicable in my view, but dont need a conspiracy to be so.
What i find to be the problem at face value was the marrying of governments to vaccine strategy and thereby to the pharma industry allowing it a much wider range of actions to secure profit. Giving them special treatment as if they where some holy philanthropist was stupid, and should never have happened. The sidestepping of rules, regulations and regulatory bodies developed over long periods of time through trial and error, that restricts governments by restricting their power was the biggest mistake and underlying the problem of special treatment for the pharma industry.
In Denmark we treated it like war granting our government unrestricted power, a power that none of our politicians are capable of wielding, and nore should they be. They are politicians in a representative democracy, it fosters over bidding which in turn is kept in check by the opposition through our paliamentary processes. But left unchecked they lurch at the most active of actions.
It obviously have nothing to do with science only in so far as the science
talks up action and reaffirms it.
Everywhere now politicians of the oppositions are fighting to reinstate the regulatory bodies because otherwise they are powerless, while also trying to maintain popularity. They don't condemn restrictions but want to downregulate them.
So whatever atrocities the pharma industry was/is perpetrating it was enabled by the unlimited power granted to politicians due to "state of emergency" being implemented everywhere (which also explains the constant use of war metaphors in the early stages (or is it the other way around?)).
The question then is why did we implement a state of emergency?
How did this idea start?
A pandemic is one thing (and not a nice thing, but not war), but a state of emergency have never been the solution. So why the state of emergency? Mediadriven hysteria? Perhaps. Pushed agendas by organisations like the world economic forum? Perhaps.
One thing was clear from the state of Denmark, our prime minister and health minister changed tactics from the one recommended by our local authorities to a state of emergency with lockdowns etc. After a meeting in Bruxelles with unknown experts. This is obviously kindle for conspiracies, but even excluding allegations of conspiracy wtf happened in those first few weeks of the pandemic?

To your point about their obligation to profit: I think most people do not understand the generalised significance of this. Oil companies (which I have worked for) are obliged to maximise their shareholders current investments, not ensure that we have durable and reliable sources of energy. In securing this, they are not obliged to tell the truth, merely to avoid being caught breaking the law. Any correspondence between their duty to their shareholders and our benefit is at best coincidental.
Likewise Pharmaceutical companies. They are not obliged to create products that make us well (indeed, they profit from products that make us unwell and which require further products to cure), they are not obliged to tell the truth merely (with the assistance of the regulators and law makers) to avoid breaking the law, and any correspondence with their activities and our wellbeing is entirely coincidental.

People lost their collective marbles over the 'flu having been persuaded over a very long time that it is infectious. The good new is that it isn't.
There is even better news that disease is fundamentally misunderstood by the masses of the people and the false model presented to us justified big pharma vaccines and drugs which are at best pointless and usually harmful or deadly.
Bizarrely or not the harm of pharmaceutical is in the name. I did an analysis of anagrams and found the top longest single word is 'malpractice'. In fact 'Uh a malpractice' is a full anagram.
I have done a post but I have much much more for those interested.
By the way in the UK people ultimately locked themselves down, believing the government's lies that they had to. It was all guidance despite the daily briefings but people forgot to double check even if common sense told them it was foolish.

There are some great goods emerging from this catastrophe, and one of them is the sight of the courage of those speaking out, especially those willing to give up their pay for truth. And another is the sheer quality of some of the independent journalism, both in research, like Joel Smalley and Berenson, and comment, like you, the bad cat, and others.

Excellent essay I will need to ponder over more. Eugyppius agrees that such a vast conspiracy would be impossible to pull off; too many people involved, too many “moving parts.” I’m not convinced. Fauci has dreamed about a universal flu vaccine everyone on the planet would take yearly; the jury is out whether that will come true. From my studies, the only group big enough, and with the resources, to pull a world-wide coup are the international bankers.

Now all the different incitements and implementations of restrictions etc. Seems hugely overblown and completely unfathomable which gives the impression of "too bizarre to not have been planned". When the chess pieces starts knocking over monopoly real estate pieces and smashing "the tall hat" and "old school car" piece while playing their chess game, there must be a plan, but no. It's just collateral damage from overreacting chess pieces.

Covid is a perfect storm in which elites from Big Pharma, Big Tech, Big Government and Big Finance all have interests that overlap in one way or another. Therefore, they support each other though propaganda advertising, censorship and policy making. All this brings us to where we are at the moment. Is that a conspiracy? I don't really care - the question for me is more: "what do we do about it in our day-to-day lives?".
I constantly think about this - if the rest of the world has sunk into a mental fear morass with people so engrossed in social media trivia that they have no interest in the forces that shape their world - what should we do? I mean those of us do who believe what we see is a king without clothes, while everyone else are applauding the king passing by while they are looking at their phones?
To me, the answers seem complex. I continue to think about it.

This is the world of peaceful resistance, non-compliance, calm interrogation of claims, and constant repetition of observable contradictory evidence. Absent some extraordinary permanent-denial-of-reality phenomenon, the narrative will collapse (is collapsing) under the weight of its mounting improbability.
The second is: "How do we prevent recurrence?". On that, I'm less certain.

But one thing COVID 19 was not was a cock-up. It was a deliberate ploy at least on one level to make big pharma etc. insane amounts of money by re-branding the seasonal 'flu. The dumbing down of the masses over the decades was the key via shed loads of propaganda.
It was also a final attempt to impose a one world government, a totalitarian control.
